Mr. Bell has spent much of his career involved in the commodities and hedge fund industry as a regulatory, tax, audit, and business advisor. He has a great appreciation for the industry, which is why he founded Arthur Bell CPAs in 1974 to focus mainly on the individuals, funds, and management companies in the alternative investment world.
A frequent speaker at worldwide conferences sponsored by leading industry associations and trade groups, Art presents on accounting, tax, and regulatory trends relating to the industry. He previously served on the MFA Board of Directors and has been a Director, Treasurer, and member of the MFA Executive Committee for most of the time since 1994. Art was also a member of the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee. He is currently a member of the Futures Industry Association Editorial Advisory Board, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pension Research Accounting Group (PRAG) based in London, the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) also based in London, and currently serves on numerous industry committees and working groups.
Mr. Bell has been the Managing Member of Arthur Bell CPAs from 1974-2018. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and a licensed CPA in Maryland, and currently manages a large family office.
Art is on the Board of Directors of Welton Investment Partners, The Hippodrome Foundation, and is a Trustee of Stevenson University.
